Congratulations to Tacoma and Sound Transit on the opening of the new Hilltop Tacoma Link!
The extension brings 2.4 miles of new service to Tacoma, doubling the length of the T Line with seven new stations.
New stops include St. Joseph, Hilltop District, 6th Avenue, Tacoma General, Stadium District, South 4th, and Old City Hall Station. Passengers will have access to Wright Park, major medical facilities, and longer distance regional transit via the Tacoma Dome.
Five new light rail vehicles were also implemented with the expansion to improve headways. Trains will run at approximately 12-minute intervals most of the day from Monday through Saturday and 20 minutes off-peak and on Sundays.
PSRC provided $7 million in funding to this project.
