PSRC Seeking Comment on Transportation Projects Recommended for Funding
SEATTLE -- The project lists for two of PSRC’s funding programs have been released for public comment from September 14 to October 19, 2023.
Twenty projects have been recommended for $23.6 million in Transportation Alternative Program funding. This program funds transportation improvement projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, historic preservation of transportation assets, environmental mitigation, and more. The recommended projects are located in Tacoma, Bothell, Bremerton, Lynnwood, Bellevue, Kent, Kirkland, Mountlake Terrace, Seattle, Issaquah, Shoreline, Renton, Fife, Puyallup, Poulsbo, and unincorporated areas of King County, Pierce County, and Snohomish County. Six projects have been recommended for $6.1 million in Rural Town Centers and Corridors Program funding. The program funds projects supporting smaller town and city centers in rural areas of the region. The recommended projects are in Poulsbo, Sultan, Bonney Lake, Orting, North Bend, and unincorporated Kitsap County. View the detailed list.
Both recommendations include prioritized contingency lists of projects if additional funds become available.

The public comment period will run from September 14 to October 19, 2023. Public comments received by October 12th will be provided to the Transportation Policy Board before it makes a recommendation to the Executive Board, which is expected to approve the project recommendations at its October 26 meeting.
