Census Workshops in June

Learn about data products available

PSRC is working with the Census Bureau to host two online workshops to cover a wide range of useful Census data products and resources for supporting local planning work.

The first workshop was held on June 8 and covered data updates and new Census web resources. The presentation and webinar video from the workshop are now available.

Attendees learned about the preliminary release of the 2020 Decennial Census P.L. 94-171 (or redistricting) data and the schedule for upcoming data releases.

Information was also shared on the differences in how the Census Bureau approached data collection for the 2020 ACS 5 Year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The workshop also covered the replacement of American Fact Finder with the new data.Census.gov data portal and the updated Simple Search feature. Presenters offered tips on navigating advanced searches such as accessing data profiles, poverty and income, language data, and race/ethnicity.

The next workshop will be held on June 22 at 9:30 a.m. and will focus on Census Bureau equity resources and PSRC community profiles. Learn more and register.
