Air Transportation

The region’s airport system consists of 26 public use airports and two military airfields. Six are considered regionally significant, playing a critical role in the commercial passenger, air cargo, and commercial jet aircraft production markets.

All of the region’s public use airports are unique and vital to their communities, and support the region’s economy and air transportation network. To support the region’s air transportation system, PSRC has been involved in a variety of planning activities, including:

  • Monitoring ongoing master planning work at the region’s public use airports

  • Airport ground access planning

  • On-going efforts to address airport compatible land use under PSRC’s Growth Management Act (GMA) authority
