At last week’s TOOLBOX Peer Networking session on housing, participants had a chance to hear from a great lineup of housing developers, advocates and planners.
The goal was to set the stage for how best to address housing in VISION 2050 with a common set of facts about where things stand now.
Speakers included Marty Kooistra, Housing Development Consortium; Alexander Casey, Zillow; Emily Alvarado, City of Seattle Office of Housing; Brian Lloyd, Beacon Development Group; and Paul Inghram, Puget Sound Regional Council.
The three-hour session included presentations on affordable housing strategies and recent data on housing market trends. Participants also joined in small group discussions to help identify regional policy priorities and pathways for addressing housing challenges.
During scoping for VISION 2050, many people identified housing and affordability issues as key topics to cover in the update to the regional growth strategy.
You can find the presentations online.
Big thanks go out to our speakers and participants for making this a fantastic session.
