PSRC is seeking public comment on projects recommended to receive approximately $17.5 million for bicycle and pedestrian facilities and historic preservation in King, Pierce, Kitsap, and Snohomish counties.
The public comment period on the recommended list of projects will run from November 9, 2017 to January 25, 2018.
PSRC's Transportation Alternatives Program uses Federal Highway Administration funds for community-based transportation improvements in the region, such as non-motorized facilities, historic preservation of transportation assets, environmental mitigation, and others.
Written comments received by January 4 will be reported to the Transportation Policy Board at its meeting on January 11, at which time the board will make a final recommendation to the Executive Board. The Executive Board is scheduled to approve the project recommendations on January 25.
The twelve projects recommended for funding are:
- King County Parks – East Lake Sammamish Trail North Extension, PE/Design and Construction, $2,318,683
- Pierce County – 121st Street South Streetscape Improvements, PE/Design and Construction, $1,017,325
- Seattle – Bell St. Protected Bike Lane, Construction, $1,349,521
- Tacoma – Revitalizing Tacoma's Brewery District with Complete Streets: Phase I, Construction, $2,201,474
- King County Metro – White Center - RapidRide H Line Non-Motorized Safety Improvements, PE/Design and Construction, $951,631
- Seattle – Cowen Park Historic Bridge, Construction, $2,409,859
- Bainbridge Island – Olympic Drive Non-Motorized Improvement Project, Construction, $878,320
- Issaquah – Newport Way Non-Motorized Improvement Project - SR 900 to SE 54th St., PE/Design, $1,550,888
- Tacoma – Pipeline Trail, Phase III Construction, Construction, $1,936,057
- Lynnwood – 44th Ave. W/I-5 Underpass Improvements, PE/Design, $255,672
- Sultan – Sultan Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge, Construction, $2,500,000
- Kitsap Transit – Bremerton Transportation Center ADA Improvements, Construction, $153,412
