Washington State Ferries has released a draft Long-Range Plan for public comment and review. The public comment period runs from September 10 through October 25, 2018.
“The ferry system is a critical part of our state’s transportation network and reliability is our customers’ top concern,” said WSF Assistant Secretary Amy Scarton. “This plan makes it clear that we need to invest immediately in building new ferries, improving the customer experience and greening the fleet through 2040 and beyond.”
The draft plan addresses four major themes while planning for ferry service through 2040:
- Reliable service
- Customer experience
- Managing growth
- Sustainability and resilience
