Public Records Requests
What is a Public Record?
According to the state of Washington, a public record is ". . . information relating to the conduct of government or the performance of any governmental or proprietary function prepared, owned, used, or retained by any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristics." [RCW 42.17.020(41)]
Anyone may see our records, although there are some limits* on how they may be used.
How to Request PSRC Records
You may make your request in any of these ways:

Our Response to Your Request
Within five (5) business days of receiving your request, we will respond in one of the following ways:
- Provide the record.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for further response.
- Deny the request, with an explanation of the denial.
- Require a 10% deposit of the estimated cost for photocopying the records requested. If a deposit is required, we will notify you before making photocopies.
- Ask for clarification of the request for records.
* Limits on how public records may be used
Washington State law limits certain uses of public records, including but not limited to prohibiting using lists of individuals for commercial purposes [RCW 42.56.070(9)] and prohibiting using lists of persons to promote election of persons or for promotion or opposition of ballot measures [RCW 42.17.130].
